Now. I mean that.
Because it’s my experience that there’s always something we can work on together. That’s why a lot of my clients hire me for something specific tand then stick around. Life is always happening and we’re always engaging with it so it can be handy to have someone you trust, someone who is your advocate that can help you navigate what comes your way.
A relationship ends, a new one begins, you get laid off unexpectedly, you’ve been feeling down for way too long, or you want to take what’s already good to the next level. Maybe you’re sick of being unhealthy or you are tired of your anger issues. You might think of this as “maintenance coaching;” helping you to get to and then maintain a confident way of living.
You also might hire a coach for specific issues or situations. For example, if you’re stepping into a transition in your life like becoming a parent or getting married. Maybe you’re starting a new job or thinking about retirement. These are all great times to work with a coach.
The first time I hired a coach I was scratching my head trying to figure out my next career move would be. The next time I hired one, I was launching a business. More recently, I worked with a coach because I sensed my life had become super-predictable and was therefore in need of a reboot. Coaching helped me in all of these areas.
Some of my clients complete their work in six months. Maybe I am being hired for something super-specific. We tackle that and the relationship comes to an end. But more often I’ll work with clients for a year or more. In fact, as I write this answer, the average among my current clients is six years!
When you do want to pause or end our work, I want you to know you can always come back. I maintain a spot for any returning client as well as a returning client reduced fee.
Most clients start with an hour a week for 4 to 8 weeks. This allows us to establish your goals, set our course, and “design our relationship” which is just a fancy way of saying, determine how we’ll will work together. It’s my hope in those first 4-8 sessions, that you can begin to see some quick and meaningful changes.
From there, about 70% of my clients move to an hour every other week. A smaller portion see me once a month with some using me on an as-need basis when high stakes situations arise, or they simply need a “tune-up.”
Note: For the client that wants to see movement quickly, I can design an approach that is more immersive. In this situation, we might meet for daily check-ins to accompany a longer once-a-week session.
Generally speaking, the first call is complimentary as that’s when we determine if what you need and what I do is a match.
The payment options listed below are based on a per-hour fee which I will cover in our first call.
I collect payments using Square.com using a credit or debit card.
With the pay-as-you-go model you are charged after each session. This approach receives no discounts.
Additionally, you can buy sessions in blocks of four (starting at eight sessions) and receive a discount on the per-hour fee. Your discount increases the more sessions you purchase.
Customized packages, including Immersion Coaching, are based on the scope of your need and are handled individually.
Each session lasts 50-60 minutes.
Occasionally, I will meet for 30-minute sessions. Those are handled in separate agreements.
Some topics call for longer sessions of 90 to 120 minutes which can be scheduled as needed.
It’s up to you! 90% of my clients prefer the phone. Heck, I prefer the phone because I am a pacer! That said, if you’re in New York and you want to meet in person, we can. Or if you’d prefer Zoom or FaceTime, I can accommodate that as well.
As a coach, I am a generalist which means I can and do work with a wide range of topics.
If you’re experiencing it, I can handle it.
The reason for that is, I don’t coach your problems. I coach you. For that reason, the topic is less important than you are.
So don’t be shy. Over my 15-years of doing this work, my clients have taken me everywhere in their lives. And I mean everywhere.
I’ve worked with emotional issues like fear, doubt, worry, shame, anger, depression, and anxiety. I’ve walked clients through divorces and into the dating world.
I’ve helped people navigate parenting challenges, setting boundaries in the workplace, and making life-changing decisions. I’ve help people quite drugs and alcohol as well as shed unwanted weight. I love interview coaching as well as strategizing on high-stakes conversations.
My living philosophy can be summed up as “The obstacle is the way” or “Life happens for you, not to you.”
It is my goal is to use everything that gets in your way (the obstacle) as an opportunity for you to become more of the bad ass you already are.
That means, no matter what is happening in your life, I will always hold you as bigger than it. You are bigger than any problem you face and every problem you face is a chance to learn something new, to become smarter and stronger in some specific way.
That does not mean we don’t find solutions to what’s driving you bat-shit or keeping you stuck. We will. But what that does mean, is that by tackling the obstacles in your life, together we will help you actualize; becoming a stronger, wiser, more skilled version of yourself.
I ask for a 24-hour notice of a cancellation or a reschedule.
The first session that is missed is on the house, after that, I charge for missed sessions.

We’ll know our work is successful if it creates new thinking and new action. But not just any kind of thinking and action (we are trying to make things better after all!).
I mean the kind of thinking and action that is aligned with the goals you’ve set for yourself and values you have for your life.
Too often we get stuck in old thinking and that leads us to the same damn results. If I’m doing my job right, when you get off a call with me, you will have a collection of new ideas and specific actions to use in your life.
Whatever your reason is for hiring me, whatever you want to achieve, my intention is to play a vital role in getting you there. You do the hard work, and I am there to help you get clarity on where you need to change and then how to make those changes.
The primary difference between a therapist and a coach is that generally speaking, therapists tend to focus more on the past or present while coaches tend to focus more on the present and the future. Therapists are often more focused on cognitions while coaches are often more focused on behaviors.
That said, I am a bit of a hybrid. If a client wants to explore their past as a part of moving forward, I am 100% available for that.
I love both therapy and coaching. Some of my most effective client relationships are with someone who is working with me and a therapist. The work can be quite complementary.
